Grom BT3 BMWSB3

The Grom Audio BMWSB3 is a plug & play Bluetooth integration kit designed for select BMW and Mini radios. Once installed, you can stream music and phone calls from Bluetooth enabled devices such as your smartphone (iPhone, Android, Windows etc) directly to the factory stereo.

Streaming music services such as Pandora, Spotify, iTunes, iHeartRadio and more are all supported with the BMWSB3 as well as music stored on the phones memory or micro SD card (if your device supports a micro sd card).

Answer, end, and use your phone voice calling features to safely make calls with a simple touch of a button on your radio or steering wheel controls. To hang up, simply tap the button again and your call will be disconnected.

Installation of the BMWSB3 is very straight forward, the included harness will plug into the satellite radio or CD changer port behind your radio and then into the module. From there, you simply plug the included microphone into the module and run to the desired mounting location (it includes a clip), slide the radio back in, and you’re all set. Some vehicles require splicing a power and/or ground wire as well).

If you’re looking for a seamless way to add Bluetooth to your factory BMW or Mini radio, the Grom BMWSB3 is a great choice. You’ll keep the OEM look and feel to the vehicle without having to replace the radio, and it’s just a fraction of the price of replacing the entire radio.

Compatibility Notes

The following model BMW models need a special modification from the BMW dealership:
BMW X3 - (E83 model) with a production date from 09/2005 and up with DSP and without navigation, CD changer and iPod connection
BMW Z4 (E85 model) with a production date from 02/2006 and up with DSP without navigation, CD changer and iPod connection
BMW Z4 (E86 model) coupe with a production date from 05/2006 and up with DSP, without navigation, CD changer and iPod connection

These vehicles above do not require GROM DSP adapter (use analog DSP) and can be installed at stereo or trunk, but audio part will not work until the stereo is programmed (retrofited) to accept CD Changer (bmw calls it “vehicle order”). Please contact your local BMW dealer and ask them to retrofit the stereo to accept CD changer.

If your vehicles meets the criteria above, and has navigation, CD changer, or iPod connections, the Grom unit will work without any special programming.

**For BMW vehicles that are equipped  with factory satellite radio, the satellite radio unit will need to be un-installed in order for the Grom BMWTB3 to work.
